It is a product that is used as protection for gas and oil pipelines. Also it is used as a drainage core for liquids and gases in engineering works. It has a three-dimensional structure with a large volume of voids which provides high flow capacity, as well as an excellent mechanical, chemical and weather resistance.
It replaces thick layers of natural materials, such as crushed stone, rolled pebble, gravel and sand. It works as a retaining wall.
It can be used in conjunction with other geosynthetics forming the geocomposites. It is commonly used between two geotextiles, between two geomembranes or between a geotextile and a geomembrane, to prevent their channels from being clogged by soil or debris.
